EMLUX – Executive Master in Luxury Goods Management is a program organized by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan in collaboration with firms and organizations within the luxury industry.

Its part-time structure and schedule during weekends is designed to allow participants, who are interested in comprehending and enhancing the skills and abilities linked to the management of luxury goods and in developing the understanding of the dynamics and of the peculiarities of this market, to attend the master while working.

This program is especially designed to focus on the diverse skills related to the particular operational, financial, marketing and product issues that impact strategic and business decisions in the luxury industry.
The master’s degree is directed by Roberta Crespi Professor of Business Economics And Management at Università Cattolica.
EMLUX is entirely taught in English by a conjoint faculty of academics and professionals of the luxury industry. The teaching method is based upon lessons, case analysis, completed by group work sessions and a project work coached by partner firms of the luxury industry.

Its part-time structure and schedule (Friday and Saturday, 9-13 14-19, twice a month) is designed to meet the needs of professionals already working who are interested in developing or enhancing the skills and abilities linked to the management of luxury goods and to develop the understanding of the dynamics and of the peculiarities of this market.
EMLUX has been developed with a cross-functional perspective, courses are articulated in 6 main areas: Fundamentals, Marketing&Communication, Sales&Retail, Organization&General Management, Operations&Process Management, Innovation&Trends.
In terms of industry, EMLUX lecturers and professors share their experience developed in the main sectors, such as fashion and leather goods, watches and jewellery, yachts, automotive, wines&spirits, perfume&cosmetics and hotellerie.
Considering the diverse backgrounds of participants, courses are structured with a course owner of academic experience to give an overview of the main topics of the course and give participants the fundamental tools and vocabulary to understand the specific issues of the area, which are then declined by professionals of the luxury industry.
The teaching method is based upon lessons, case analysis, completed by group work sessions and a final project work.

EMLUX has been developed:

  • for those already employed in firms in the luxury industry who intend to enhance their careers through a master’s degree
  • considering the needs of professionals who wish to shift from their market to the luxury market
  • and for young talents wishing to develop their career within the luxury industry.

It is structured so as to provide the necessary skills to those who are interested in creating, developing or enhancing their career in a firm within the luxury sector.
It is meant for those who intend to develop their managerial abilities by acquiring a cross-functional perspective that will enable them to interact with diverse company areas and understand the complexity within a luxury firm.
EMLUX seeks to meet luxury firms’ requirements in the phases of selecting talents who understand the multicultural environment of these businesses and are able to manage complex environments.
Young talented students may also apply for internships, based upon their profile and the availability of luxury firms.
In order to submit the application into the Master’s program, candidates must have completed a three-year university degree and have good command of the English language.
